TED Talk Challenge #16: The real reason for brains

TED Talk LogoBrainless starfish

Did you know starfish don’t have brains? Turns out there’s quite a few species on our planet that don’t have them. So what are they for exactly? Why did so many species evolve them when, apparently, they’re not entirely necessary?

Daniel Wolpert comes to answer these questions with this latest TED Talk. This really is a great video that covers quite a bit of very interesting information. From how we go about predicting events to cup stacking tournaments to tickling. Oh, and stick around for the brief QnA. It might just change the way you think about, well, thinking.
